“I’ve been physically active my entire life but started really getting in to exercise and nutrition while in college at Texas State University. At the time, I was competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and needed to keep as lean and fit as possible while also staying high in my weight class so the nutrition aspect became increasingly more important. After moving to Victoria in 2005, I continued to train while balancing family and work. I ruptured a disc in my spine, stopped exercising for over a year and put on a lot of weight. At some point I got tired of seeing myself like that so on a whim I walked in to FSU CrossFit in March of 2012. At first, Isaac and I treated it like rehab for my spine and muscles and slowly my strength came back. Now, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been while also being more flexible and healthy.”
